The AWS Solutions Architecture team outlined the architecture of Deep Insight for data analysis using agents
The AWS Solutions Architecture team described Deep Insight: seven specialized agent roles process CSV files based on instructions in natural language. The user approves the plan, and the outputs are charts and a report in .docx format with citations. The code is available on GitHub.
The AWS Solutions Architecture team introduced the architecture of Deep Insight, a system for automated data analysis. According to the team, the system accepts a CSV and instructions in natural language, proposes a plan and presents it to the user for approval before execution. Agents then analyze the data, create charts, verify calculations and compile a report in .docx format with citations.
The architecture divides the work among seven roles: Coordinator, Planner, Supervisor, Coder, Validator, Reporter and Tracker. Strands Agents SDK determines the execution order using the Graph pattern and handles branching for user approval. The Agents as Tools pattern allows the Supervisor role to invoke specialized agents as needed. The system accesses models through Amazon Bedrock.
The source code and setup guide are available on GitHub. Three variants are described: Self-Hosted for local work via the CLI, Web with an interface for uploading data and downloading reports, and Managed AgentCore for production deployment. According to the team, the last variant runs in a private VPC network, isolates individual user environments and uses a separate Code Interpreter on AWS Fargate.
Why it matters
The case study offers developers a concrete pattern for connecting analysis planning, user approval, code execution and calculation checks. The described components and their roles can serve as a basis for designing a custom analytics system.
Two audiences, two different impacts
What this means
For individuals
In the described Web variant, an analyst can request an analysis in natural language and review the plan before execution without having to write code.
For a business
For companies considering how to run analytics agents, the Managed AgentCore variant is relevant: according to the team, it supports deployment in a private VPC network and isolation of individual user environments.
