Prague-based fintech Tapaya found that its product is integrated almost exclusively by AI agents, not humans

The startup Tapaya built a payment gateway simple enough for even AI to integrate. According to the company, it is now integrated almost exclusively by AI agents, which do not respond to explanations and insist on their requirements – communication must be conducted with facts and commands, not persuasion.

Prague-based fintech Tapaya is developing a system that turns a mobile phone into a payment gateway for developers integrating payment tools into their own products. From the start, it wanted to design the product simply enough that even an AI could integrate it. According to co-founder Petr Zahradník, this succeeded a bit too well: the company says it effectively has not a single customer who integrates the solution manually – today the tool is only integrated by AI.

Zahradník describes that communication with people interested in the product takes place overwhelmingly with AI agents, not humans. A typical scenario: an agent writes a long, complicated message saying the product doesn't work according to its scenario, insists on its request, and doesn't respond to explanations of the product's limits. According to him, the conversation loops, because, according to the company, AI cannot be persuaded emotionally – it only responds to facts, strict formulations, and repetition of instructions like "this cannot be done." The company therefore, in its own words, had to reorient itself and now builds a tool primarily for AI, not for developers.

Zahradník links this to the fact that the fintech/developer segment is a field where the rise of AI is showing up fastest, because, according to him, people often no longer read documentation or write emails themselves, but assign the task to an AI assistant (e.g. Claude) and repeatedly confirm it until the integration works.

The article further mentions similar experiences of other companies (CloudBooster, the curl project) with an increase in AI-generated communication and reports, but details of these cases are not part of this summary. For details, see the source article.

What changed

Why it matters

Companies whose products are integrated by developers or technical systems may find that the real user of their documentation and support is an AI agent, not a human. According to Tapaya's experience, this requires a different communication style – brief, factual, and directive formulations instead of explaining and negotiating, because AI, according to the company, does not respond to argumentation or to statements about the product's limits.

Two audiences, two different impacts

What this means

01

For individuals

Anyone writing technical documentation, support, or emails for developer tools may today be communicating with an AI agent on the customer's side, one that does not respond to explanations but only to clear, factual, and repeated instructions.

What to do When writing support or documentation for technical products, formulate answers clearly, factually, and directively, because they may be read and processed by an AI agent instead of a human.

02

For a business

Companies with products for developers should consider that their real customer and integrator is often an AI agent, not a human, and adapt their documentation, API, and customer communication style accordingly – according to Tapaya's experience, classic persuasive arguments don't work with AI.

Sales and marketing
What to decide Consider preparing product documentation and API in a form suitable also for AI agents (clear, structured facts without the need for interpretation), if the company targets the developer/technical segment.
