Meta releases Style Sketch app to suggest outfits from your own wardrobe
Meta has made Style Sketch available for iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. The app uses AI to suggest combinations of users' own clothes and lets them build a virtual wardrobe from Instagram photos or add items manually.
Meta has released Style Sketch, an app that uses AI to suggest outfits. It is available for iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Whether the company plans to expand to other countries is unknown; it did not respond to an inquiry from TechCrunch.
Users can build a virtual wardrobe from photos posted on Instagram or by manually adding clothing through photos or video. The app then suggests combinations of the user's clothes. According to Meta, users can also select a specific item and get suggestions built around it.
According to Meta, the app lets users view outfits on a realistic figure that matches their body proportions and skin tone. After users enter their destination, trip length and planned activities, the app is also said to prepare a daily clothing plan based on the weather forecast and itinerary.
Why it matters
The Instagram integration lets users build a virtual wardrobe using photos they have already posted. Practical use is currently limited to the three countries listed; wider availability has not been confirmed.
