Icelandic company Jónsbók is entering the Czech market with an AI assistant for legal research, analysis and document preparation. According to manager Petra Karkošová, the service in the Czech Republic is based on local law and language and can work with hundreds of documents simultaneously.
The service allows users to ask questions in everyday language and receive answers with citations to legislation and court decisions. It also offers drafts of contracts, legal filings and memoranda, as well as analysis of users' own materials, such as PDF files or emails. It is available through a web interface and as an add-in for Word and Outlook.
Why it matters
Citations allow users to trace the legal sources behind an answer and verify its basis in legislation or court decisions. For Czech legal practice, the focus on local law and language claimed by the company is significant.
Two audiences, two different impacts
