Claude Managed Agents sessions now follow organizational web search rules

only one source so far

Claude Managed Agents sessions have respected organizational web search permissions since 6 October and domain restrictions since 14 October. Results must satisfy both organizational rules and the web_search tool settings.

According to the release notes, Claude Managed Agents sessions have respected the organizational Allow web search setting since 6 October and organizational domain restrictions since 14 October. These rules are configured on the Capabilities page in Claude Console.

An agent receives only search results that satisfy both the organizational domain restrictions and the allowed_domains or blocked_domains list rules configured for its web_search tool.

What changed

Why it matters

An individual agent's settings cannot extend searches to domains blocked by the organization. Both levels of rules must therefore be taken into account when assessing which web sources are available.
