Anthropic adds templates for legal work and source verification to Claude for Legal
Claude for Legal now offers interactive templates for citation verification, contract review and other legal tasks. According to Anthropic, the system links claims to original sources; a lawyer then reviews the results.
Anthropic has expanded Claude for Legal, a product for legal teams within Claude Enterprise, with prebuilt interactive dashboards and tables called artifacts. They support citation verification, comparisons of laws across countries, case file management, tracking of legislative proposals and contract review against internal policies. According to Anthropic, the model performs an initial verification and links individual claims to original sources, after which a lawyer reviews the results.
The legal integrations directory contains more than 60 connections, including Bloomberg Law. Users can thus connect their own databases without manually uploading files. According to Anthropic, built-in settings enforce data protection rules and maintain the separation of information between teams required by clients.
Why it matters
Links attached to individual claims give lawyers specific supporting material for subsequent review. The templates cover recurring legal tasks, but professional assessment of the results remains part of the described process.
Two audiences, two different impacts
What this means
For individuals
When checking citations, a lawyer can build on the initial verification performed by the system and go directly to the original source for each claim.
For a business
Legal departments can connect contract work with internal policies and existing databases. Separating client information between teams is also important during deployment, and Anthropic states that it supports this.
