Viture introduces camera-free Vonder smart glasses with an AI assistant combining multiple LLMs

only one source so far

Viture has announced Vonder smart glasses without built-in cameras, whose AI assistant, according to the company, dynamically chooses between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek models. Price $299, preorders from 28. 9. 2026, delivery in November 2026.

Viture, based in San Francisco and Beijing and previously known for glasses with a virtual display (Viture One, Viture Beast) connected via USB-C primarily for gamers, has introduced a new model, Vonder – glasses without built-in cameras that look like regular glasses. The frames contain microphones and speakers that enable phone calls, music playback and navigation; according to the company, the AI assistant combines multiple large language models and chooses between ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google) and DeepSeek based on task complexity, aiming to deliver the fastest and cheapest response.

According to the company, the assistant continuously builds a “personal memory graph" – a network of notes about what the user talks about (e.g. café visits, sports activities), displayed in the app as an interconnected graph. Ambient audio, even outside the explicit “meeting mode" (which activates the microphones to record the surroundings), is captured by bone-conduction sensors in the frames that passively detect vibrations from the wearer’s voice throughout the day. During a demonstration, a company representative described how, based on captured conversations, the assistant proactively sent him an alert about his behaviour and offered recommendations for change; this is a company claim presented as part of a product demonstration, not an independently verified result.

The glasses cost $299 and are available with prescription lenses, in various frame shapes and with clear, transition or sunglass lenses. Preorders begin on 28 September 2026, delivery is planned for November 2026, and battery life is approximately 16 hours according to the company.

With Vonder, the company, like competitors Xreal and Even Realities, sets itself apart from Meta Ray-Ban and the criticism of their intrusions into privacy. Audio recording is signalled by a blue indicator light on the temple of the frames, which the company describes as less conspicuous than the indicator on Meta glasses.

What changed

Why it matters

For consumers, this is a wearable device that collects and permanently stores audio recordings of the wearer instead of using cameras, including passive sensing through bone conduction – this is an important consideration before buying and when deciding which features to enable on the device. For companies in the sector, the product is a concrete example of commercial deployment of query routing between several LLMs based on cost and response speed, which could serve as a reference approach for their own products combining multiple models.

Two audiences, two different impacts

What this means

01

For individuals

Those interested in wearable AI will be able to preorder Vonder glasses from 28 September 2026 for $299, with delivery in November 2026; the camera-free device replaces video with audio collection and uses it to create a personal “memory graph", which affects the degree of privacy the user gives up to the company.

What to do Before considering a preorder, take into account that, according to the description, the glasses passively record the sound of the wearer speaking through bone conduction even outside an explicitly activated meeting mode.

02

For a business

Viture is entering the smart glasses market with a product that, according to the company, dynamically switches between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek models based on task complexity and cost – a concrete example of commercial deployment of multi-model orchestration, while also putting competitive pressure on brands such as Meta in the wearable AI segment.
