Plaud has launched AI earbuds, Plaud One Explorer Edition, with a built-in 4G modem in the charging case for recording and transcription without a phone. Price: 249.99 dollars, preorders from August 2026, deliveries from September 2026.

Plaud has introduced new AI earbuds, Plaud One Explorer Edition, which record, transcribe and summarize conversations – unlike the previous product in the form of a pin, these now take the form of conventional earbuds. The device can be worn as ordinary earbuds or used through a separate charging case, which has built-in 4G connectivity and enables conversations to be recorded and processed without relying on a phone or Wi-Fi.

Each earbud has 16 MB of local memory (32 MB in total) and three microphones with a recording range of up to 2 meters; according to Plaud, recording time and battery life are up to 6 hours. The earbuds have noise cancellation and touch controls on the stem. The charging case contains four microphones with a range of 5 meters, a built-in speaker, 512 MB of storage and a combined battery life of up to 36 hours, and charges via USB-C.

Transcription and summarization are provided by Plaud Intelligence technology, which the company describes as designed to “understand and fulfill human intent”. The AI button on the charging case activates the Plaud Agent assistant, which connects natively with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack so users do not have to switch between platforms.

Plaud One Explorer Edition costs 249.99 dollars and is available for preorder starting today in selected markets, with deliveries expected to begin in late September 2026, according to the company.

What changed

Why it matters

The device addresses a practical problem with existing AI recording pins – dependence on a phone – by moving 4G connectivity directly into the charging case, allowing recording and transcription to work independently. Thanks to built-in integration with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack, transcribed notes can be transferred directly into commonly used work tools without manual copying.

Two audiences, two different impacts

02

For a business

Integrating meeting transcription directly with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack can help companies reduce manual note-taking and switching between tools, but this is a consumer device, not business software with centralized management.
