OpenAI is developing specialized Dots agents for accounting, legal work and marketing
OpenAI is developing specialized Dots agents for business roles and working on integration into the Agent 365 platform. The sources describe testing and pilot projects, rather than widespread availability of these agents.
Alongside personal Dots agents, OpenAI is developing specialized agents for accounting, legal analysis and other business tasks. According to the company, internal testing has included invoice processing, email marketing and contract management; deployment is starting with pilot projects at individual companies. Specialized agents have their own identities, login credentials and tools. OpenAI is working with Microsoft on integration into the Agent 365 platform.
The core Dots service uses the GPT-6 Astra model and its own cloud computer with a browser. According to the company, it can work continuously toward assigned goals, connect to more than 4 000 applications and retain context across ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Teams. Users currently have one agent; multiple agents and communication via SMS are planned capabilities.
Availability depends on the plan and region. According to The Decoder, Pro subscribers currently do not have access in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The Business Premium plan offers the service in supported regions; Enterprise, Edu and Healthcare plans provide beta access enabled by an administrator. An article in The Verge lists the Pro plan at 20 dollars per month, while another article from the same outlet lists 100 dollars per month. The sources therefore disagree and do not confirm an actual price reduction. One agent is included in the subscription and, according to the company, conversations with it do not count toward ChatGPT limits, but tasks passed to Codex or ChatGPT Work count in the usual way.
An editorial test by The Verge showed mixed results: when ordering internet service, the agent needed human help with verification and encountered security checks on other websites. It was more useful when editing a personal website. According to the company, custom rules can specify prohibited actions and actions requiring approval; when independently looking for opportunities to help, the agent has read-only access. The company also acknowledges errors and recommends checking results that have significant consequences.
Why it matters
Dots enables users to delegate ongoing work across applications, such as monitoring feedback or preparing documents. However, the editorial test shows that online tasks may still require human intervention. Specialized business roles currently offer an opportunity for pilot testing, rather than a proven replacement for an entire workflow.

What this means
For individuals
A Pro subscription alone does not guarantee access to Dots: according to The Decoder, the service is currently unavailable in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
For a business
Specialized agents can be assigned to specific business processes in pilot projects. Their own identities and login credentials create a need to manage permissions and approvals for working with accounts and sharing information.
