GitHub has launched bulk agentic fixes for findings in Code Quality
GitHub has launched agentic autofix in Code Quality: Copilot can fix up to 25 findings at once, verify its changes itself, and open a pull request for review. Available on GitHub Team and Enterprise Cloud, it consumes AI credits.
GitHub has launched agentic autofix for Code Quality, enabling users to assign up to 25 standard findings on a given page to Copilot at once. Copilot then fixes the findings agentically on a separate branch, verifies its changes itself, and opens a pull request for review and merging. The feature replaces the previous Generate fix button, which only worked for individual findings, so there is now one consistent workflow regardless of whether the user selects one finding or an entire batch of 25.
According to GitHub, agentic autofix follows the existing enterprise policy for GitHub Code Quality, and there is no need to manage a separate policy – if the enterprise allows GitHub Code Quality, users can also use bulk remediation. Assigning findings to Copilot consumes AI credits.
Bulk agentic autofix is available for repositories with GitHub Code Quality enabled on GitHub Team and GitHub Enterprise Cloud plans, including the GitHub Enterprise Cloud variant with data residency.
Why it matters
Teams with a backlog of findings to fix in GitHub Code Quality can now assign an entire batch to Copilot at once instead of handling one case after another, saving manual work on fixing recurring problems. At the same time, this change needs to be monitored for its cost implications, because each such assignment consumes AI credits and requires human review of the resulting pull requests before merging.
Two audiences, two different impacts
What this means
For individuals
Developers working with GitHub Code Quality can assign up to 25 findings to Copilot at once instead of fixing them manually or generating a fix for one finding at a time, then simply review and merge the resulting pull request.
For a business
Companies using GitHub Code Quality can reduce technical debt faster, but bulk assignment of findings to Copilot consumes AI credits and requires review of the resulting pull requests, affecting both costs and the workload of the review process.
