Healthcare technology company Carebot announced an investment of over 1.5 million euros and introduced a certified mammography tool. According to the company, its AI for chest X-rays and cancer screening now runs in hundreds of hospitals in eight European countries and outside Europe.
Carebot, a company developing artificial intelligence tools for healthcare, announced a new investment of over 1.5 million euros (more than 36 million Kč). According to the company, the number of healthcare facilities using its systems more than tripled over the past year. Its flagship product is a tool for evaluating chest X-rays and detecting cancer early, deployed, according to the company, in hundreds of hospitals in eight European countries, as well as in Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates. In Czechia, the product is used by facilities including Fakultní nemocnice Olomouc, Nemocnice Na Bulovce and Fakultní nemocnice u sv. Anny v Brně.
The company also recently introduced a certified mammography solution that flags suspicious findings, provides an independent second reading of the image and also assesses the technical quality of the examination. According to the company, a negative result from the system is confirmed in 99.6 percent of cases, and AI is currently used for mammographic diagnosis at approximately 30 percent of facilities in Czechia.
According to the company, contracted monthly recurring revenue (MRR) grew by 750 percent over the year, but Carebot does not disclose the specific amount. Based on contracts already signed, the company expects this revenue to increase more than tenfold by the end of the year.
The investment round was led by the funds Garage Angels and Electron Capital Partners, with new investor JIC Ventures joining and existing investors Gain Ventures and Eva Janečková also participating. The source article provides no further details on the certification assessment or the methodology behind the reported figures.
Why it matters
This is one of the most widespread deployments of AI diagnostics in healthcare in Czechia, with a documented reach at specific university hospitals and a certified mammography product that can provide a second reading alongside a radiologist. For hospitals and healthcare payers, this is relevant input when deciding whether to purchase diagnostic support tools; for investors, it signals growth in the healthcare AI segment in the region.
Two audiences, two different impacts
What this means
For individuals
A patient undergoing a chest X-ray or mammography at one of the hospitals listed may find that an AI system also evaluates the image alongside the doctor, providing a supplementary second reading.
More practical updates →For a business
Hospitals and investors gain a new data point on the pace of growth of a domestic healthcare AI company (tripling the number of facilities in a year, investment of over 36 million Kč) and on the availability of a certified mammography tool as an alternative to solutions from abroad.
