ČTÚ launches Digitální maják portal on AI regulation, the DSA and online child protection

only one source so far

ČTÚ has launched the Digitální maják portal, which explains rights under the DSA and the regulation of artificial intelligence and deepfakes under the AI Act, and offers tools to protect children online, including a section for companies and public authorities.

The Czech Telecommunication Office (ČTÚ) has launched a new portal, Digitální maják, to help people understand the pitfalls of the digital world and provide information about areas in which the authority has regulatory powers. These cover user protection under the Digital Services Act (DSA) and oversight of artificial intelligence under the AI regulation (AI Act). Alongside these two topics, ČTÚ has also included online child protection, an area it has long been involved in.

On the website, users can find explanations of their rights under the DSA, how to address possible violations of those rights, and how to file a complaint with ČTÚ, including information about who decides whether online content is illegal. Regarding the AI Act, the portal explains which practices involving artificial intelligence are prohibited in the EU and how the regulation governs so-called deepfakes. The website also includes a link to a separate information page intended for companies and public authorities.

In the section dedicated to child protection, the portal offers a ten-point guide for parents with steps to help children use online services cautiously, instructions for setting up parental controls on devices and in apps, and other guides, instructional videos and podcasts. According to Marek Ebert, Chair of the ČTÚ Council, the portal aims not to scare people but to give them information and practical tools to navigate the digital environment more safely.
