Amazon introduced Bee Pro with shopping recommendations based on conversations and an integration with Alexa Plus
The Bee Pro subscription for 11.99 USD per month connects conversation recordings with shopping recommendations and voice access to summaries through Alexa Plus. Users must opt in to the shopping integration.
Amazon introduced the Bee Pro subscription for 11.99 USD per month for Bee devices, which record everyday conversations. The free version offers conversation summaries, recaps and a 14-day memory. According to the company, the paid version adds unlimited summaries, task suggestions, daily memories, a personal chat assistant, conversation templates, connections to third-party apps and a desktop app.
The subscription includes a shopping integration with Amazon that requires users to opt in. Product recommendations based on recorded conversations may then appear on the Amazon homepage, or product links may appear in the Bee mobile app. The integration with Alexa Plus enables voice access to summaries and insights from Bee devices.
According to Amazon, Bee devices encrypt transcripts, summaries and tasks using the Private Compute security architecture and do not store audio recordings. The devices can also be set to stop recording automatically after a certain period without any recorded sound.
Why it matters
Mentioning something you need to buy in a conversation may turn into a product recommendation while you shop. Opting in to this feature therefore means deciding whether to also use the content of personal conversations for shopping recommendations.

What this means
For individuals
A free version remains available for conversation summaries alone. Whether to subscribe for 11.99 USD per month depends on your use of advanced features, such as voice access through Alexa Plus or connections to other apps.
