Accenture has capped the central allowance for Claude at 29 dollars per month for some employees
According to an internal announcement, from 1 October Accenture centrally covers Claude usage for some employees only up to 29 dollars per person per month. Further usage must be funded by a specific project or team.
Accenture has changed how it funds Claude Enterprise. According to an internal announcement seen by 404 Media, the central allowance for affected employees is 29 dollars per person per month from 1 October. Costs are billed based on usage, and any amount above the allowance must be covered by a specific project or team through an internal budget code, WBS.
According to the article, the Premium plan includes 250 dollars of token usage per week, but many employees do not have it. One employee said in an internal message that heavy use of Claude Code typically brings their monthly costs to 500 to 1 000 dollars. Another employee said the option to switch to the Premium plan appeared to be blocked for them and described the impact of additional usage on project costs.
According to the internal announcement, access to Claude Enterprise depends on job role and business needs. Neither the allocation of a license nor secured funding guarantees continued access; the company regularly reviews license allocations and may reassign them.
Why it matters
The central allowance does not determine the total cost of usage. According to the employee experiences described, costs can be substantially higher for intensive work, so continuing that work depends on the willingness and ability of a specific project or team to fund further usage.
Two audiences, two different impacts
What this means
For individuals
An affected employee with high usage needs to secure project or team funding to continue working at the same level. An assigned license alone does not guarantee continued access.
For a business
Additional Claude usage adds to the costs of individual projects and teams, which must account for it in their budgets.
