GitHub Copilot makes Grok 4.7 from xAI available
Grok 4.7 from xAI is gradually becoming available in GitHub Copilot for all paid tiers (Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, Enterprise), billed at the provider's list prices.
xAI, in collaboration with Microsoft, is making Grok 4.7 available in GitHub Copilot. According to the company, it is the latest reasoning model from xAI, following Grok 4.6, designed for agentic coding and complex multistep tasks.
The model is available for all paid Copilot tiers: Pro, Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise. Users will be able to select it in the model picker, but the rollout is gradual, so the model may not appear immediately for all users. Billing is based on the provider's list prices under usage-based billing.
Administrators of Copilot Business and Enterprise plans can manage access to the model through the model policy in Copilot settings. New models are automatically enabled by default unless an administrator has turned off the global default setting or explicitly disabled the model.
Why it matters
Developers gain another model option focused on agentic coding directly in Copilot, without needing to switch tools. For companies, this means they need to actively manage the model policy, because new models tend to be enabled by default and are billed at the provider's list prices, which may affect Copilot costs within the organization.

Two audiences, two different impacts
What this means
For individuals
Developers with a paid Copilot SKU (Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, Enterprise) gain a new model option focused on agentic coding in the model picker once the gradual rollout reaches them.
For a business
Companies with Copilot Business or Enterprise must manage access to the new model through the model policy and account for the fact that new models are automatically enabled by default, which affects costs when billing is based on the provider's list prices.
